Mediums, sheet sizes & pricing
A medium is a thing you print on: its widths, its lengths, its price, its quality floor. Define each once; every gang sheet product uses them.
Creating a medium
DTF Gang Sheet → Mediums → Add. Each medium sets:
- Sheet width(s) — e.g. 22″; offer multiple widths and the customer picks.
- Lengths — continuous by-the-inch up to your max roll, or fixed tiers (12″, 24″, 60″, 120″…).
- Minimum DPI — the quality gate threshold at printed size.
- Margins & spacing — edge margin and minimum gap auto-nest must respect.
Pricing rules
Price per linear inch, per fixed tier, or per area — with optional volume breaks (e.g. cheaper rate past 60″). The builder quotes live from these rules, and the WooCommerce cart line is the quote — there is no second price to reconcile.
Worked example
22″ DTF at $0.55/linear inch with a 12″ minimum: a customer nests fourteen designs onto 38″ of sheet → price shows $20.90 as they build, cart charges $20.90, and your print file is a 22″×38″ PNG. Change the rate once and every future quote follows.
Common questions
Can two products use different prices for the same medium?
Yes — products can override a medium's price rules (wholesale vs retail pages are the common case). The medium's physical settings stay shared.
Rounding?
Sheet length rounds up to your configured increment (default 1″) before pricing, so quotes are always whole increments your cutter can actually deliver.
